Black-box quantum certification – from quantum systems to quantum computers

Abstract
Verifying physical systems have played a central role in many fields of science. When performing a verification task, the devices used are always required to be highly reliable. In many situations, however, we may not be fully confident about the performance of these devices. Remarkably, the intrinsic properties of quantum physics allow us to verify quantum systems without relying on any assumption about the devices. In this talk, I will give an introduction to such a certification protocol, called “black-box quantum certification”. I will also present some of our recent works on black-box quantum certification of quantum systems. Finally, I will illustrate how to apply the idea of black-box quantum certification on verifying the physical layers of quantum computers.
