Abstract: Exotic physical properties, arising from quantum mechanical interactions between quasiparticles, emerge near the boundary between magnetic order and disorder phase. In my talk, I will present experimental signatures of one such example: a ferromagnetic (FM) alloy Ni1-xRhx. For x = 0.375, the system exhibits a rare FM quantum critical point (QCP), evidenced by divergence of thermodynamic properties as the temperature approaches absolute zero. To uncover the FM QCP opens a new route, besides its antiferromagnetic counterpart, to emergent quantum phenomena, such as unconventional superconductivity and non-Fermi-liquid behavior.
