Abstract:
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a group of small non-coding RNA sequences. Initially, they were considered as junk RNA and non-functional. In this talk, I will share the background of miRNAs, their regulation in genes and how miRNAs are involved in clinical research and applications. The detection and monitoring diseases are necessary for development of precision medicine and thus in particular, the advantages of miRNA applications in disease diagnosis will be discussed. In addition, I will share our discovery of candidate miRNAs with the therapeutic mechanisms and effects for melanoma.
