Abstract:
When time-reversal symmetry breaking terms, such as magnetic doping and magnetic field, are present in topological insulator (TI), several interesting phenomena emerge. The theoretical studies on these systems will be given in this talk. The interplay between the magnetization and Landau levels on the quantum anomalous Hall (QAH) insulator will be discussed. The symmetry analysis that provides the necessary conditions for realizing QAH effect in magnetic doped TI will be given. Moreover, in time-reversal invariant TI, the Landau levels lead to reentrant quantum spin Hall (QSH) phases, which are shown to be robust to disorder. Lastly, the magneto-conductance in TI nanowire will be discussed. The magneto-conductance oscillation as a result of the Berry phase will be presented.
