Abstract:
Modern high energy theory is based on quantum field theory, which was originally formulated much with practical considerations in mind with many conceptual issues not properly addressed, as well indicated by Feynman’s famous statement about throwing away the infinities (renormalization). Throughout the decades, we have learn so much more about the theory that it teaches us to look at the proper or at least better way to look at the concepts involved. Unfortunately, most if not all of the textbooks still talk about it using quite outdated notions and perspectives. As a theorist who cares much about putting theories under perfect consistent logical conceptual framework and always pushes to switch to any logically more sensible new perspective or even terminology, I will bring forward such issues for open discussions.
