The National Central University is establishing a new Center for Theoretical Sciences under the College of Science. The Center has a Gravitation and High Energy Theory Program mostly to be operated by faculty members of the the Department of Physics (NCU) in the subject areas (web: http://www.phy.ncu.edu.tw/hep/ ; http://www.phy.ncu.edu.tw/gravity/ . A number of research/visiting positions are anticipated. Both senior postdocs and research professorships are expected. Such positions are on yearly contract, but basically offered for two years, with possibility for further extension. Salary and benefits are generally in line with the Taiwan government standard. Support for visiting research personnel at all levels for varying time periods is also available. Generally, hiring is likely to start on August 2006, but earlier dates are possible.
The National Central University is one of the leading research universities of Taiwan. It is centrally located within the major academic community in the country, within an hour from most of the other major institutes and the international airport. The department currently has four regular faculty members in the areas of gravitation and high energy theory, well supported by research grants from the National Science Council of Taiwan. There are also three postdocs, and over ten graduate students.
