   研究時空的規範理論,其變分原理,能量和正則 Hamiltonian 形式,最終的 目標則是統一場論。我們計畫在幾何與規範理論的聯繫上,得到更深刻的理解。特別是時空的規範理論,其 Hamiltonian 形式及守恆量。

  尤其有興趣於一組由愛因斯坦重力理論推廣的 Poincare 規範理論, 這個理 論中幾何量、曲率和撓率,由質量和自旋造成。我們研究其精確解,與其理 論性質及可觀測的效應。如撓率可以造成可測的長程效應嗎?銀河系動力性質的反常現象是否指出了目前接受的重力理論的缺點?

  對一般的重力理論,我們已發展出一套協變的 Hamiltonian 形式,在其中對 守恆量 ( 總能量,動量,角動量 ) 有新的表示方式。目前尋求一個理想的 「準定域」 (quasi-local) 守恆量密度。

  由狄拉克約束 (constraint) 算法可得到 Poincare 規範場論的正則形式, 並給出理論中所有的約束及規範變換。對某些參數值,我們猜測這些理論也 像我們在 teleparallel 理論的研究,會有「約束的條件分裂」現象,對這 個奇特的現象,也將做一般性的研究。

  重力的總能為正,這個基本理論要求可作為檢測重力理論的有效的工具。正能量代表重力純是吸引力,任何理論給出斥力解則不能成立;因此我們針對某些理論找這種負能解,許多理論不能符合這項要求。

  近來我們找到一個新的轉動規範條件,來選擇理想的正交座標。這些座標與狄拉克方程的解可以相互對應,且有希望成為一個好的重力理論的變量。對 愛因斯坦理論的正能定理,它能給出新的證明以及合理的重力定域能量,對於 Ashtekar 新變量,也能利用它給出簡潔的正能證明及定域能量,我們將 進一步研究這些特殊正交座標。

  研究中大量地利用電腦來做代數運算;目前用 REDUCE 加上 EXCALC 及 Zhytnikov 的 GRG ,其他如 Maple 、 Mathematica 及 Macsyma 也會用到 。

  我們找到一組新的 " 旋量 - 曲率 " 恆等式,其中兩個分別用在 Witten 形 式的正能證明及我們新的 SU(2) 旋量正能證明。我們將進一步利用這些恆等式及其他旋量方法。

  關於特殊相對論的理論和實驗基礎,我們也正進行研究。這些工作部份是與 陳滌清教授,客座專家 V.V. Zhytnikov ,張元仲教授及博士後副研究員 R. Hecht 合作研究。
